Our Story

We tried everything else first.

This is the story of why QuickScribe exists โ€” and why you probably need it more than you realize.

๐Ÿ“ฑ

"My iPhone can transcribe calls, right?"

That's what we thought too. iOS 18 added call recording โ€” great. But try transcribing a 20-minute recruiter screen. Apple's on-device transcription just gives up. On a 20-minute call, you get a spinning wheel that never completes. It wasn't built for real phone calls.

โŒ Doesn't work for real calls.

๐Ÿค–

"I'll just upload it to ChatGPT or Claude."

ChatGPT can't process a 37 MB audio file. Claude can handle short clips but not a full phone call. You'll hit file size limits, context window limits, or get a partial transcript that cuts off. And forget about speaker labels.

โŒ Not built for audio transcription.

๐Ÿ’ป

"There's probably a free open-source tool."

There is. It's called Whisper. You download it, install Python, configure CUDA drivers, run it from the command line, wait 15 minutes, and get a wall of text with no speaker labels. Great if you're a developer with a GPU. Terrible if you just need notes.

โŒ Requires a CS degree to use.

๐Ÿ’ธ

"Fine, I'll pay for Otter or Rev."

Otter makes you install an app, merge your call into their dialer, and sit through live transcription. $16.99/month. Rev charges per minute โ€” $1,800/month for AI transcription if you're making 10 calls a day.

โš ๏ธ Works, but overpriced and overcomplicated.

๐ŸŽฅ

"My company already has Zoom transcription."

Great โ€” for video calls. But what about the phone screen you did from your car? The call with a hiring manager while walking? Zoom only works when everyone's on a scheduled video call. Recruiters live on the phone.

โš ๏ธ Doesn't cover phone calls.

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ

So we built QuickScribe.

The idea was simple: what if you could just email a recording and get a perfect transcript back? No app. No website to visit. No command line. No per-minute billing.

Record a call on your iPhone. Tap Share โ†’ Mail. Send it to your QuickScribe address. Walk away. A formatted transcript with speaker labels lands in your inbox in about two minutes.

โœ… It just works.

No credit card. No app. Just email.
